The
Camp John Hay "Pro-Am" Open was kicked off here
last February 17 and ended on February 20 with resounding
success. Backed by MRT, CAP and the Camp John DevCo, the Camp
John Hay Open is the second leg of a 12-leg tournament in
the revival of the Philippine Professional Golf Tour after
a more than a two year lull.
The
tournament was played over 72 holes of Stroke Play. The first
two days saw the amateurs play side by side with professionals
for P25,000.00 better ball with handicap Pro-Am format. Baguio
boy Ed Camacho proved his knowledge of the course as he and
Pro-partner Cesar Ababa worked out a -25 under par total to
bug the victory. After the second day, the field was cut to
the leading thirty professionals to summarize the event.
