The Eco-Trail

With pine trees dominating the Camp skyline, John Hay is truly a forest destination more than anything. And the best way to experience John Hay is by walking through its eco-trail, where nature is at its purest form.

Eco-Trail

The eco-trail is part of the Ecotourism component of the John Hay master plan. It is deemed as a living library where people can learn more about nature and develop a more caring attitude towards the environment. The John Hay eco-trail basically takes the route of the White Trail, a two-kilometer path that starts at the old main gate, cuts through the forested area between the golf course and Loakan Rd., and ends at Ordonio Drive near the MPR office. The trail currently features a hanging bridge, picnic tables, and view decks. On a clear day, one can have a magnificent view of the sunset from the trail.

Eco-Trail Although it already opened to the public last February, the trail is still a work in progress. When completed, it will have cabafas, camping sites, info and art galleries, outdoor recreation facilities, and activity areas for outdoor performances and exhibits. Indeed, the eco-trail is what will make Camp John Hay really stand out as a tourist destination.
Note: operating hours for the above facilities is from 8:00am to 5:00 pm during weekdays, and up to 6:00 pm during weekends and holidays.
